Interview with Jean-Louis CORRUBLE, General Manager of the Hotel Bellechasse

Originally from Nice and passionate about the hospitality industry Jean-Louis Corruble had been living and working in Paris for the past two decades. He opened in August 2007 the first boutique hotel “haute couture” on the Left Bank, in Paris. A contemporary vision of French romanticism inspired by the brilliant Christian Lacroix.

Hoosta: How did you come up with this ambitious project ?

Jean-Louis Corruble: “One of the three partners knew Christian Lacroix, brilliant designer and he asked him to create the hotel Bellechasse Rive Gauche. The personality of the couturier, visionary and a perfectionist, matches the spirit of the hotel. The Bellechasse is a boutique luxury hotel, romantic and contemporary, bathed in an atmosphere very Saint Germain des Pres style. It is a must-go address to have a taste at the very Parisian chic style. “

Hoosta: How do we recognize this famous Parisian chic ?

Jean-Louis Corruble: “Every room of the hotel is amazing at first sight. It is mind-blowing to see how daring Christian Lacroix is to come up with such a romantic, sexy and fashion design. The design, the interior decoration and the mix of colours are a true work of seduction. It gives the traveller a sense of being unique and living in harmony with the French culture and lifestyle.”

Hoosta: What do your customers think?

Jean-Louis Corruble: “Our customers come to the hotel because of Christian Lacroix and they come back because it is the Hotel Bellechasse. The contemporary luxury implies a very personalized welcome and customized service. We are focused on the everyday details that provide an intimate feeling, corresponding to the feeling you have when you come home.”

Hoosta: Why having created a blog?

Jean-Louis Corruble: “I wanted to revisit the French hospitality prestige and give it a more welcoming style, less stuffy. The information published on the blog of the hotel Bellechasse are aimed to be like that. These are only our personal addresses in the district, our recommendations, our discoveries and coup de coeur (italique) that we find in our everyday life as Parisians. “
